Raspberry Filled Steamed Buns (Bakpao)

in #food β€’ 3 days ago

Good Morning!

TGIF and I hope this finds you well 😊

My back is slightly better. Crazy to think that I pulled it a week ago and it's still not 100%. Almost 2 weeks!! As you grow older, I guess πŸ˜… Truly cracks and moans. Yikes! πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜…

For today's recipe share, I have more steamed buns coming out of the kitchen, I hope you're not bored with them 😁 I like tweaking a recipe. Today I'd add this, tomorrow I'd add that, next time this and that. Thus, I won't bore my children with same flavor and texture 😁 My kids can be so picky 😁

1.5 c lukewarm water
2 tbsp sugar
3 tbsp fresh yeast
2 tbsp olive oil
3 1/3 c flour
1/3 c oatmeal
2 tbsp PB2 powder
A generous pinch of salt (optional)
Raspberry jam

Soften yeast in sugary lukewarm water, then pour mixture into breadmaker machine pot, followed with oil, flour, oatmeal, PB2 powder, and salt, if using.

Chose cycle number 9, for dough, and it will take about 1.5 H until it's ready, on my breadmaker.

Take out bloomed dough from the breadmaker, dump it on a clean surface, and divide into 60-90 grams portions.

Flatten each portion and spoon a tbsp raspberry jam on each, shape into rounds. Cover buns with clean towel, and let them rise again, for at least 20 minutes.

Preheat steamer, steam buns for 10 minutes. Take off steamer from heat, let stand for 10 minutes, then take out the buns.

Enjoy!
