Good Morning!
My husband wasn't released from the hospital yesterday, boo-hoo. There seems to be miscommunication between the doctors/departments, so he has to stay for another day or two. As long as he is in total recovery, that's what matters, I know, but it's sad to think he will miss his 1st born high-school tours, which is going to be today and tomorrow.
I woke up with a broken nail. Bah! Our kitchen plumbing been having stomachache for 2 weeks at least now, and plumber was supposed to come yesterday, and we were informed he was/is sick. So maybe on Thusdays we will hear something. I have been washing with hands, and whichever dishes detergent, always brittle my nails. So yep. Broken nails here and there. So not fun, as they were already short to begin with.
Today is one of my favorites. The fresher, the better! But do watch out for melted sugar, it can get super hot!
50 g sugar
200 ml milk
60 g unsalted butter
1 tsp peanut oil
2 yolks
20 g fresh yeast
350 g flour
A pinch of salt
1/4 c unsalted butter (more or less)
Dark brown sugar for sprinkling
Allspice powder
Cinnamon powder
2 tbsp sugar
Bring milk and sugar to lukewarm, then stir in yeast
In a bowl, melt butter in microwave, making sure it doesn't get too hot, then stir in peanut oil and yolks
Pour yeast mixture into breadmaker pot, top with flour, followed with butter, and salt. Click dough cycle
Dump dough on clean surface, roll flat
Melt butter then brush on dough. Sprinkle generously with brown sugar, spices, and regular white sugar. Roll
Slice rolls and place on baking pan, let rest for 20 minutes, thdn bake on preheated 350 F for 20 minutes
Enjoy!
