Whoa Friday!
How time flies, it feels. Well, short week, I guess that's why π I hope my American neighbors had a great 4th of July? π
Yesterday was so nice with the sunny day, that I could spend time with my garden. I still haven't been able to find any skid steer services, though. Which sucks big time as it means I cannot work on my front yard still π I need to move 4 plants from frontyard to backyard before I could do some work. To be able to do that, I need to move berries from backyard to another spot. That's where I need the skid steer for, as the other spot is hilly, need to be flattened out first. So much headache, I just want nice looking yards, people. Come with skid steers please, I have cookies, I promise! π¬π π¬π
I lied...I don't have cookies. If you come today, I only have these following steamed buns. I promise you that they aren't just fluffy, they are full of yummness. This, I am not lying π
300-500 g ground beef
1/4 c diced onion
2 large garlic, dice
1 tbsp Hoisin sauce
Sweet paprika powder, heaping 1/2 tsp or to taste
Turmeric powder, heaping 1/4 tsp or to taste
Ground cumin, heaping 1 tsp or to taste
A generous pinch ground black pepper or to taste
Chicken bouillon powder, to taste
1/4 c water (if needed)
3/4 c almond milk
1/2 c sugar
1 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
3 c + 2 tbsp flour (up to 4 c)
1 tsp salt
3/4 c tomato paste
1/4 c sunflower oil
On a nonstick pan, brown ground beef (mine was half frozen) on medium heat, with diced onion and garlic. Seasoned with ground cumin, ground black pepper, turmeric powder, sweet paprika powder, chicken bouillon powder and Hoisin. Pour in water if needed, and continue cooking until no more liquid. Set to side to cool to room temperature, covered.
In a bowl, pour in milk and add in sugar. Microwave for 40 seconds (only to lukewarm, not boiling hot to touch). Stir to dissolve sugar completely, then stir in yeast. Let stand floor 10 mins.
Meanwhile, in a clean bowl, mix 3 c and 2 tbsp flour with salt, then mix in tomato paste plus oil, with wooden spoon.
Pour in yeast and knead, adding the rest of flour as needed (watch the vlog).
Let dough rest for 30-40 mins.
Weigh dough for 100g each. Flatten and fill with beef filling, then shape into rounds. Let rest for 10 mins.
Preheat steamer, steam buns for 15-20 mins.
Enjoy π
'm drooling ππ€€ Thanks for the recipe π
My pleasure! These buns are fluffly and yummy π
I'm trying to come to terms with tomato paste bakpao. I cannot XD
I do love bakpao though :D
You wont taste the tomato, I promise π
Deliciously interesting!
Thank you π
Made in a way we don't bake, always interesting learning new.
I like learning new things too when it comes to cooking/baking and gardening π
So much to learn, it never stops.
