Oh gosh, it has been forever since I wrote! I did come here once in a while though, shared my insights (NOT, lol). I would like to carry on the saga of my posts about healthy eating today. How many of you know what lentils are? All, I hope.

I couldn't agree more. I think I always find a way to put it into something or the other. I grew up in India so it is kind of a staple there. If you are a vegetarian or a vegan then lentils are literally an über awesome protein source for you.
"You know how most people think that eggs are great sources of protein? Well, you only get about six grams from an egg, and about half of that is in the yolk and the other half is in the white. If instead you opt for a cup of lentils, you get a whopping eighteen grams of protein, plus all that fiber that makes you feel full and cleans out your body!"-

Now that we have all this wonderful knowledge information about lentils, let's jump right to the recipe of the salad.
Ingredients:
A cup of black lentils
Red onions (two)
Two tomatoes
Cucumber
Iceberg salad
Salt
Black pepper
Red Chilli powder
Turmeric Powder
Garlic and ginger paste
Method:
Step-1: In this step we make the lentils. First of all thoroughly boil the lentils till they are soft (I generally do this in the Indian cooker thing so it does not take too long). Once the lentils are cooked then take a large pan, pour some oil in it. When the oil is hot then add some cumin seeds, finely chopped onions and a tea spoon full of the ginger garlic paste. As the onions start to get a little brown, add one chopped tomato. To this mix, add some turmeric powder, some salt, chilli powder, black pepper etc (basically all them spices you got). Cook the tomatoes properly and then add the boiled lentils. Thoroughly mix the whole thing. You can add more salt at this point and spices at this point (not the turmeric though.). Once the mix is thick then turn the heat off. Let it cool down a bit, as it cools it gets thicker.
Step-2 To a plate, add some chopped cucumber, chopped ice-berg salad and tomato. drizzle some salt, pepper and olive oil on it. Top this up with the prepared lentils and enjoy the ride <3
It is a seriously filling dish so you can eat it for lunch. You could also eat for dinner if you like as it is very low on carbs too. I hope y'all try this at home. See you soon (maybe tomorrow)!
