I was told that this cake is a brownie, but it is not. It is a cake. And like most cakes without dairy and sugar, it is rather… uninteresting! Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with this recipe. It is just that I haven’t managed to find an interesting cake, if I omit these two ingredients at the same time… I will keep on looking though because I have a restriction on sugar and as I adore deserts, I carry on my efforts for “healthy” solutions.
Ingredients: 1 cup of cocoa, 3 tbsp of smooth peanut butter, 3 ripe bananas, 1 tsp of baking powder. Easy? Easy!
We put everything in a mixer and mix well. We apply grease proof paper in a small try and spread the mixture. Bake in 180C for 40’. Check with a knife before taking out of the oven..
I have to say: This is a cocoa like cake rather stiff – it is not moisty. That is why I told you that this is not a brownie.
Now what would I do differently? I think I would add 2 tbsp of honey and 1 cup of orange juice. Also, nuts would be interesting! But all these are a different recipe! I will do some tests and revert!
Enjoy!
I can imagine it being pretty bitter with so much cocoa.

Yes primarily bitter and then sweet!
Wow, that sounds interesting. If you add some almond milk, would it be more fluffy? Or some aquafaba? I love simple recipes. Thanks for sharing.
Good idea! I have coconut milk, thanks!
