The Spicy Indian #1 Chana-Dal Vada (Split Chickpea Lentil Patties)

Are you looking for something different, crunchy, tasty and healthy snack which can give a new taste to your tongue? Then you are in the right place. Many people have asked me for Indian food recipes.


So I thought of starting my own Indian food recipes series here. Today I am going to share the recipe of a very delicious and crunchy snack. Trust me it's really a mouth-watering snack and for those people who love spicy food. Every Indian food lover should try this at once.

Chana-Dal Vada (Split Chickpea Lentil Patties )





INGREDIENTS


  • Split Chickpea Lentil- 1 cup
  • Green Chilly- 3-4
  • Onions- 2 chopped
  • Ginger Garlic Paste- 3 tablespoons
  • Finely Chopped Coriander- 2 tablespoons
  • Red Chilly Powder- 1 tablespoon
  • Garam Masala- 1 tablespoon
  • Roasted Cumin Powder- 1 tablespoon
  • Salt To Taste


METHOD





1. Clean and wash the Split Chickpea Lentils and soak it in luke warm water for 2-3 hours. After that drain the lentil very well. Keep it in  the sieve for ten minutes.





2. Then, put the split chickpea lentil in a blender and add green chilly, garlic cloves, red chilly powder, garam masala, roasted cumin powder, salt and two tablespoons of water to it.





3. Make a thick and coarse paste of these ingredients. Now transfer this paste in a bowl and add chopped onions and coriander in this paste and mix it well by using your hands.





4. Make little patties of equal size by using your hands. Then. heat some oil in the pan and fry these patties on a low flame till they turn golden brown from all the sides. Drain on absorbent paper.



Serve Immediately with tomato ketchup.
