Yes, they really only use salt and then boil it in water. The Satay sauce of course is optional. The meat itself is so tender and full of flavour. Really simple, yet undeniably delicious!

I have a hard time eating it myself. It's cold, so the texture is very, well, cold and slimy, and the way it's cut means you have to be very careful about small bone fragments when biting - when I try to eat it, there's plenty of unpleasant crunching going on. Definitely an acquired taste… in my opinion anyway.
