A Global Problem
Food waste is a problem you'll find almost everywhere. People have too much food, or just don't want it for some reason.
Other Problems
Food waste isn't just a waste, but a lot of the food isn't biodegradable. This means it is also damaging the earth. This makes matters even worse. When there is food piling up without a cause, it smothers the ground, soon after, killing it.
Neutralizing the Problem
An easy way to fix this problem, is to set self-guidelines. If you go shopping at least once every week, you don't need a two month supply of food. That's what food storage is for. You should also make a plan for at least one whole week, so that you don't get more than you need.
Your Part
Now that you know what to do, the rest is up to you. You have to put this plan into action. You can stop this worldwide problem.
All waste is a problem. Besides the issues you mentioned, I'm guessing the food in the ecosystem is also bad. On land, it probably screws up the food chain. And in the water, it probably also provides too much nutrition which cause blooms. Waste should be minimized.
