Hipster Hunter: Fuwa Fuwa Pancakes

in #food8 years ago

If you like your pancakes fluffy, it just doesn't get any fluffier than this!

Originating from Japan, fuwa fuwa literally means fluffy! A more accurate depiction of what it really is like is to describe it as a souffle pancakes.

Served with a side of whipped cream and syrup (options with additional fruits and berries are available). It really is served like your average pancake just WAYYYYYYYYYYY FLUFFIER.

Now I do have to say this was only an OK experience for me and you will see why as I explain below. Aesthetically it is very pleasing, including the atmosphere. However, other than the aesthetics of it I can't see myself going back for more.

It sounded like heaver on earth as it was described to me at first as a ultra fluffy pancake. But I found that fluffy also meant it was practically airy and empty inside. I don't know but I expected something denser??? like an actual pancake??? not a de-panned souffle???

It took 20 minutes to prepare and was set at a price of RM21.90 which I found to be way over priced considering the ingredients that were used. Sure you may argue that its the technique used that counts but really...... I just can't see how it could be justified.

Taste wise I think it was okay, nothing overly special. Just a souffle with some maple syrup. By the way, it is definitely not meant to be a meal unless you can get stuffed on cream and air!

Overall...... really not worth another go.
