Merdeka Day has once again graced us with its presence, and what better way to celebrate the spirit of independence than by exploring the vibrant cafe scene our city has to offer? To kickstart this caffeine-fueled adventure, I found myself at a hidden pet-friendly cafe (forgotten the name, oopsss), nestled in the heart of the city. As I stepped in, the aroma of freshly ground beans welcomed me with open arms. The baristas were in full Merdeka spirit, donning creative red, blue, and white aprons while crafting delightful latte art.
I ordered their signature Merdeka Matcha decadent blend of dark chocolate and a hint of local spices, rosemary I presume? With a cup in hand and a cozy corner seat, I couldn't help but feel a rush of patriotic pride as I sipped away, surrounded by the rustic charm of the cafe.
No cafe-hopping adventure is complete without a touch of sweetness, and "Merdeka Cheesecakes" was the perfect place to satisfy my dessert cravings. The counters were filled with an array of pastries, each a delightful twist. How cute is this cheesecake that is also shaped like a slice from a cheese wheel!
