The advantages of vegetarianism:

  • Vegetable products are rich in vitamins and minerals
  • vegetarian diet provides soluble fiber
  • reduced risk of coronary vascular disease
  • You can keep a higher level of good cholesterol
  • lower levels of bad cholesterol can be observed

Disadvantages:

  • iron in meat is much better absorbed
  • Vegetable products are not a good source of vitamin B12, iron - difficult absorption
  • Iron and vitamin B12 supplementation is necessary deficiency of vitamin D and calcium

Do you like tofu? When I lived in Maryland in the USA, they had this thing called tofurkey for Thanksgiving for vegetarians and vegans. Actually I'm not sure is tofu allowed for vegans? I don't even know...
