Yeah, Buchweizen ist not very common nor popular here. I guess a lot of people dont even know it. I had some growing in front of my balcony last summer, probably origining from bird food that I put there.
But also cod is not so widely used here, its expensive too. I was more common in the past and cheap, but now the fish have become rare.
