Really yum!! I love both corn and tomato sandwiches, although I am a Hellman's girl through and through. I have tried Dukes, but it didn't feel right cheating on Hell-mans. You understand.
Fresh corn is in! I do it the long way too, it is tried and true! I have dishes that look like corn too and corn pickers that have a cob on the end of them. I have never melted butter. I put butter on a piece of bread, even if it is stale, it is fine, and then roll the corn around it. No mess. I am out a piece of bread, but, we never eat the whole loaf ever.
While corn is in season, I buy it when it is super cheap and prepare it like I am eating it, then cut it off the cob and vacuum pack it and freeze it. The special bags keep it from freezer burn and I have fresh corn on the cob (cut off the cob, but, still tastes just like it!) to have with dinner in the middle of winter. I do that when certain meat is on sale too, I eat one freeze one, or something like that.
Your corn looked so good! OMG! I got some this morning and now, I am washing off the blue crabs and going to have corn and crabs along with some kind of potato! The girls are cooking!!! Yay, me~!!
Tomatoes! The Black Krims have about six weeks before they will be ready - Here anyway. Maybe some are sooner, but, the gardens here. Oh, they are delicious! The smokey, complex flavor. Gimme! Gimme!

Now that bread idea sounds good, but it would not be wasted, because I would then eat the buttered bread too ! I better not start that I'm thinking.... ha ha... .I do love some buttered bread though !

My Mom has always frozen corn for winter and made it taste like it was fresh off the cob too. It has been our beloved winter favorite, but I'm thinking non of that will happen this year. Oh well.... it's been a good run and nothing lasts forever.
I can't wait to taste the black tomatoes (that aren't black)....
I like crabs too, but I don't like cleaning them as I go. I want someone else to do that.... gross. 😆 It's so unappetizing to pull out guts and then eat the rest.
