The process of making homemade dumplings

Hello, my dear friends.

I have prepared a recipe for vareniki, which I rarely cook. I don’t like to cook them because of the long process. While you’re making them, half a day will pass.

My mother always makes vareniki for me. I love her vareniki, but I would like to make them myself. Maybe with time I’ll get used to making them and will make them more often. My son asked me to make vareniki this time, so I had to make them myself. We don’t like store-bought vareniki.

For vareniki, we will need

1 egg
1 glass of water
400 grams of flour (approximately)
A pinch of salt.

The filling can be anything: mashed potatoes, stewed cabbage, mushrooms, cottage cheese, cherries, strawberries.

I took mashed potatoes. I prepared them in advance.

Let’s start making vareniki.

Break an egg, add a glass of water, and stir with a whisk. Then add a little flour and knead the dough.
We should get a soft dough. To make dumplings, add more flour to make a dense dough.

Next, roll the dough to 3 mm and cut out circles with a glass.

Put the filling on the circles and make dumplings.

I cooked half and put the other half in the freezer.
