#foodiethursday is a day we talk about food. At least thats what I think we should this week.
Back several weeks ago... I've bought some Ribeye steaks fresh from Ryan's. A butcher found at Great World City.
The almost 600gm of two ribeyes cost almost $50. And these arent even the top marbling grade..
Today, I found a shop called Foodie near tiong bahru. Actually, I knew it existed for the longest time, just didnt get to go as it is situated at a rather inconvenient corner.
I took a slow walk to it... here is a photo of "Link Hotel"
it is located at the new building around the turn...
and thru' its tiny window :
It's a small store, but I think the draw is mainly to buy steaks, at a far more reasonable prices...
they also sell other stuff...
S$3.65... not bad, considering the same thing at Cold Storage when it is on discount is S$5.0 and when not is at close to S$7. Almost 50% less.
These are their high-end cuts. Which is alot cheaper than what I've seen at Meidi-Ya . Ive see high marbling Kobe beef for something like $50 for 100grams.
These are the cheaper cuts... and I decided to the the Hunter Valley's Grass Fed Ribeye for $3.52 / 100gm. I order two pieces at 1.5inch thick
which came up to 868grams which gives a grand total of S$30.55
This is more than 50% savings compare with $50 for 600+ grams bought at Ryans. A much affordable price. And I managed to get the right size 1.5 inch cut.
Will cook it up and I'm sure it will be featured in yet another post. So stay tuned for it.
Yay! 🤗
