That's what our table looks like on Flat Lay. There were 5 of us including Baby Zion. As you've guessed - his food is the plain rice with chicken on sticks. It's called a Chicken Karaage by the way. This is a Japanese restaurant, their rice isn't actually plain - or I dunno, we call it Japanese rice, it's stickier than normal rice but not so much like sticky rice.
There are 3 kinds of dishes here, and some condiments as well.
The restaurant practices self-service (but of course - if you need help with something they would gladly assist you back to your table).
This is the counter area, there are 4 steps in ordering food from this place.
First, you have to order your main set, either an Udon Dish or a Don dish.
- Udon is a kind of noodle they serve - it's thick and firm. Don means rice - in this case: Rice Bowl Dishes.
Second, you can pick your sides.
- Side orders are Tempuras and Rice Cakes.
- Tempuras are lightly battered fried food.
Then there's a place for you to pick up your drinks, which is the third step.
Fourth and last, you have to pay for your orders on the cashier.
Our Food
We had 3 main orders and they were:
- 2 Orders of Beef Udon
- 1 bowl of Tendon
- and a Spicy Pork Tendon
This is the Beef Udon bowl filled up with a hearty serving of thick and firm Udon noodles, a soy-based soup, an egg, and beef strips. I topped it with onion chives and batter bits, added some spices on it and some shoyu.
The tendon has Japanese rice, kani ren, tamago ren, sweet potatoes, and of course ebi ren.
kani is crab stick, tamago means egg, ebi means shrimp.
Spicy Pork has Udon noodles in pork broth, has pork strips and lots of spice on top.
Overall, the experience was great. The place looks good and food tastes superb. Especially the Udon's soup. I ordered the beef Udon and it was the best! I still think it can't beat a Nagi Ramen but for half the price, it's a good contender.
