RE: Som Tom Bangkok Thailand foodphotography

Lol, its Som Tam....its basically a simple papaya salad with dried brown shrimp thrown in but they often use various seafoods to get the saltiness, normally I see it with little whole crabs in.
The more its pounded, the spicier it becomes so get them to pound itmless and leave the chillies as whole as possible.
TBH I cook quite well a lot of Thai foods but I really don't like it as I dont really eat meat and never eat seafood lol

I didn't know that about it getting more spicy with the pounding. I don't really like anything about this dish, so I will leave them to it lol. I love seafood and I eat as much meat as I can when I can get it. I'm not cooking much at all now since I can only boil water here. But I have been eating pretty good most of the time. Soon I will be in Malaysia, so it will be a whole new world of food.

Ahhh you're moving to Malaysia ? good luck with that. Whereabouts in Malaysia ? I must confess its not my favourite place in the world but the food is great :-) when you going ?

I plan for KL - but I'm not sure and I am making plans now. My visa is done Aug 1, so that will be the day. I have been there twice and enjoyed my time there, so I hope it will be a good stop.

The food was the only thing I had trouble with, so I hope for the best :)

MacDs is so cheap there, they have happy hour between about 1 and 5pm lol....of course, theres no pork anywhere!
How are rental prices there please compared to Bangkok ?
