Hi there my Steemit fellows and followers!
Today, I would like to introduce you to another interesting fruit that is pretty common here in Mexico – the tiny cultivar of the banana known as the Lady´s Fingers.

Usually measuring just about 10 cm (4 in) long, these mini bananas have a remarkably thin skin and they are very sweet.
They are grown in most tropical regions all over the world, which is also why they have many other colloquial names such sugar bananas, date bananas, fig bananas, chicken egg bananas etc.

Just like their bigger relatives, the mini bananas are rich in many vitamins, minerals and nutrients such as potassium, dietary fibers, magnesium, calcium or Vitamins B and C.
The plant itself is also considerably smaller than the regular (Cavendish type) banana - it can actually be grown as a houseplant.
This is also my entry for the #foodphotography contest hosted by @juliank.

Haha :D I think these are pretty rare in Europe, I havent seen them in Czech supermarkets. Are any banana cultivars grown in Greece? Or is it too cold in the winter for that?
Thanks for sharing this food photography
Wow I had no idea you could get them this small!
Haha, I was surprised too :)
Aw. Sweet @phortun. I have been to many places that grow bananas but I don't think I've ever seen those tiny ones 😊
Sweet they were indeed :) Thanks for the comment Gillian.

Really? They tasted just like normal bananas except they were sweeter :) No problem for me, I love sweets :D
I guess that I just didn't like the very sweet flavor! :P
