Manchester United resume the series of quartets by sweeping Everton!

in #football7 years ago

Manchester United beat Everton 4-0 at Old Trafford on Sunday in the fifth round of the Premier League.

Manchester United, with a plan (4-2-3-1), was overwhelmingly defensive and aggressive, and did not give his opponent many chances to threaten his goal for 90 minutes.

Everton coach Ronald Koman had a plan (3-4-2-1), but he was careful with defense and closing the area between the three lines to prevent Manchester City from reaching the goal.

However, Everton failed to defend and attack; there was no support from the two-sided Schneiderlin, and Idrissa Jaye for the backline trio Michael Keane, Jackelka and Ashley Williams.

Scored the goals of the Red Devils,Antonio Valencia, Henrique Machtarian, Romilo Lucaco and Anthony Mariente in the 4, 84, 89 and 92 minutes. United take the lead to 13 points, and share the lead with Manchester City, while Everton are stuck at 4 points in 18th place.

The hosts started the game with an idealistic scenario, with Nemanja Matic playing a crossball, which Valencia met with a straight shot in the right-hand clipper, scoring the first goal early.

Manchester United took control, and the game almost broke in the first half, had it not been for Everton goalkeeper Jordan Beckford and the kickbacks of Lukako and Rushford.

On the other side, Everton only defended the first 45 minutes, and his offensive weapons, whether Wayne Rooney, Tom Davis or Gilfie Sigardson, did not pose any real danger.

The performance of the guests improved in the second half, as Rooney almost equalized after a few seconds, without David De Gia, who also had a free kick from Gilfie Sigardson and another opportunity from Sandro Ramirez, who took the lead.

As time passed, the players of Everton began to despair as Jose Mourinho moved to the ranks of his team by involving Jesse Lengard, Andre Herrera, Rashford and Juan Mata.

Lengard almost added the second goal, but his shot went over the crossbar.

Everton had collapsed completely in the last 10 minutes and conceded three goals. Lukako played a ball to Mkhitarian to put it easily in the net before leaving the field for Anthony Marital.

Amidst a sporadic scramble in the Everton defense, Lukako slipped deep into the net to take a cross from the net, scoring the third goal in the net of his old club.

Martiel then added the fourth goal from a penalty, due to the touch of the midfielder, Morgan Schneiderlin.

The visitors suffered a heavy defeat, falling to the relegation zone, while the Red Devils continued their strong goal of the season in the PremierLeague.

By the end, Wayne Rooney could probably be forgiven for wondering what kind of adventures he might be missing with his old team. He had heard his name sung and there was a little, polite wave of appreciation to the crowd. Yet Rooney wore the look of a man whose return to Old Trafford had felt like an ordeal and when he returned to the away dressing-room it was to ruminate on a defeat that leavesEverton in the relegation zone.
