Mohammed Salah who recently won the BBC African Player of the year is the favourite to win the award, His recent performance for Liverpool might also be a plus for Him to clinch the award. Mohammed Salah is the currently top goalscorer in the EPL 17/18 season with a total of 14 goals. He was also responsible for the qualification of Egypt to the FIFA World Cup in Russia scoring a total of 5 goals in the qualifying matches.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang continues to enjoy a run of good performances since bursting into limelight in 2013 the Dortmund forward has made it a habit of scoring goals for Dortmund when needed. He has registered 13 goals for Dortmund in the Bundesliga this season. He scored a total of 31 goals last season for Dortmund.

Sadio Mane scored 2 goals and made 3 assists as Senegal qualified for the 2018 World Cup. Mane scored 13 goals and made 7 assists last season for Liverpool although he has had a slow start in terms of number of goals scored in the EPL this season, Sadio Mane is regarded as a threat in front of goal and is a player that everyone is expected to have in their fantasy team every week
Last year's winner was Riyad Mahrez for his impact in Leicester City impressive conquering of England. The winner of the award would be announced at AITEO CAF awards 2017 ceremony on the 4th of January 2018 in Accra, Ghana.
I just want to add this, I thought this was an award for players' performance in the 2016/2017 season? Then why is Victor Moses, Aboubakar not on the final list. What did Aubameyang and Salah win last season? Moses won the EPL with Chelsea and Aboubakar won the African Cup of Nations with Cameroon and the Turkish Super League with Besiktas. CAF should reconsider the rules for voting. It should be based on the previous season performance not the current season.
