~ This is the what team series edition one - Manchester city ~
So in this series I will be showing what formations and players the teams should use based on form, ability etc...
First I am using Man City
Injured player(s) - Mahrez - he will not be included because of this...
League posistion - 1st
Team insight - Manchester city enjoyed their best season to date breaking record after record while also enjoying cup sucsess. Althought this year they will have a hard time holding onto the title as Liverpool and Chelsea look particularly threatening. They had a total of 100 points last season.
Star players - Sergio Aguero & David Silva
Weakness - Only one defensive midfielder, need another striker, can be vunerable to counter attack.
Formation which I choose - 3 - 4 - 1 - 2
GK- Enderson - after having a brilliant first season for city and being a mile ahead of Bravo or Hart it is a no brainer.
CBs - Otamendi , Kompany , Laporte - for me John Stones simply is lacking talent and phisique behind the other three, he also makes more mistakes and has less experience so would be on the bench to replace Kompny when he gets injured.
RM - Bit of a shock i would go for Kyle walker after his superb world cup, push him forward to RM.
CM - Fernandinio and Silva, Citys two best CMs one for attacking one for defending, simple.
LM - Raheem Stirling pace om the left and the right and after a great season he is the top choice.
CAM - De Bruyne one of the most creative players in the world - has to be in the middle at CAM.
ST - Jesus and Aguero this would be a force to be dealt with and few would be able to stop them.
You would chose Laporte, a £50m signing who wasn't even selected to go to the World Cup, over John Stones? Where is Benjamin Mendy?
Walker can drop back and cover the RB position, Laporte isn't a LB and so you have just left the entire team exposed on the left hand side and Sterling isn't defensive enough to drop back and cover.
Your team isn't balanced enough to counter the big teams in the Prem and in the later stages of the Champions League.
