Ashley Barnes' late winner for Burnley ensured that their remarkable start to the Premier League season continued, moving the Lancashire club into the Champions League qualification spots.
Burnley (0) 1
Barnes (89')
Stoke City (0) 0
The highest position that Burnley has been in since the 1975 top flight season, the team have massively impressed and furthered expectations so far at the start of this Premier League season.
Before tonight, I doubt anyone would have picked this game out as one to watch - and the game had very few clear-cut chances for either side, and had draw written all over it until the 89th minute when Austrian registered Ashley Barnes' strike rebounded off teammate Scott Arfield into the net.
Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool fall below Burnley, but all play tomorrow so this will most likely not last. Burnley have never qualified for the Champions League.
Stoke slip to 15th and are only 3 points safe from the relegation, as the problems continue to mount for under-fire manager Mark Hughes. The same certainly can't be said about Burnley counterpart Sean Dyche! The 16 points that Stoke have taken from their opening 17 games is the lowest that they have ever recorded, and the goal conceded tonight was their 36th of this campaign.
Mark Hughes will have to do something or surely he will face the sack.

Fantastic season so far for Burnley. It's too close to Christmas to ignore them as contenders for top 4. At Christmas a couple of years back everyone was waiting for Leicester to flop, and that didn't happen either.
Burnley were the first team this season to give Man City a game. I hope they get the reward the football they're playing deserves.
