Liverpool's impressive performance in the five games they've played this season has shown that Phillipe Coutinho is not really needed. Jutgen Klopp's style of play is not built around one player and that's why Firmino, Salah, Mane and Can have wreaked havoc on their opponents so far.
The latest 4-0 demolition of Arsenal is another sign that while Coutinho remains a good player, he is not the key player for the Reds. Liverpool's poor run between January-February 2017 was due to the absence of Sadio Mane who was at the African Cup of Nations.
Coutinho should be sold if he doesn't want to play and the money should be used to buy two defenders and a midfielder. Virjil Van Dijk and Renato Sanches will make Liverpool a competitor for this season's premier league title.
