Yerry Mina deal is done; he will arrive in Barcelona tomorrow

Radio Caracol announced that the Colombian will arrive in Spain tomorrow or Tuesday. Palmeiras and Barcelona still must fix a fee.

According to Alargue Caracol, Yerry Mina will arrive in Barcelona either tomorrow - Monday or Tuesday to undergo a medical and sign his contract to complete his move to Barcelona. Over the past few hours, we have seen the Colombian start following player who will soon be his new team mates such as Ter Stegen, Luis Suárez and Coutinho. All that remains is for Palmeiras and Barcelona to confirm the terms and conditions of the transfer which is expected to come to around 11 to 12 million euros - a portion of which will go to Independiente Santa Fe.

Barcelona strengthening the defence

Back on 12 December, AS reported that Yerry Mina was the choice of Barça's Technical Secretary Robert Hernández to bolster the defence following Samuel Umtiti's injury and Javier Mascherano's decision to join Hebei Fortune. Mina wasn't the option which concinved everyone, but he was the most accessible option and the one who the Blaugranas had the most information on. In 2016, the club signed a pre-agreement to sign him for nine million euros which they could have triggered this summer.

The big unknown is what physical shape Yerry Mina is in. He has been on holiday for the past month since the season ended in Brazil and we will have to wait and see how long it will take him to work his way up to the same level of fitness as his team mates during this decisive stage of the season. Then, he will need to prove himself and show that he is up to the level demanded at Barça.
