French striker Olivier Giroud has indicated that he wants to stay at Arsenal.
Giroud has been the subject of much speculation this summer, with potential moves to West Ham and Marseille being spoke about.
However Giroud has confirmed that all rumours of him leaving are false he told the Arsenal website:
"I won a few titles in my career, that is an important thing, but there is another thing which is important for me"
"And that's the people remember you as a loyal warrior on the pitch, that always gives your best for the team"
"And that's why I want to carry on my good journey at Arsenal and I always want to do my best"
Fighting talk from Giroud and it looks as though he will be fighting for a starting position in the team as Arsenal close in on his compatriot Alexander Lacazette.
giroud in my eyes has always been a great player for arsenal, but for whatever reason hasn't always been favoured to others....his goal record is good for club and country and wenger really needs to make him there main man up front...
its not often in todays footballing world that we will see players showing tremendous loyalty like giroud has here, credit to him

I think Giroud is a perfect player to have as an option from the subs bench. For me he's not a starter mainly due to his pace as Arsenal are best with pace in the team. But in them tight games he can give that something different from the bench.
Not sure he would have signed a new deal though to be a bench player, im sure there would have been a chat about that at negotiations with wenger
Im do see what your saying though about his pace but his goal scoring record is very decent at all levels
I think fans are always a little hard on the top striker of a big team when that team doesn't really perform as highly as they would expect it.
I think Giroud is a very good striker and he's up to par to what Arsenal want to achieve this year. But is he going to stay much longer at the club? Somehow I doubt that.
The reason why people don't back him enough even though he has talent, is because he lacks a BIG PERSONALITY. It's as simple as that. If not, Giroud is a decent goalscorer and a big lad. He makes his presence felt.
Giroud has a tendency of scoring great goals but also missing great chances.
I am looking forward to see if the old man will play both Giroud and Lacazette in the same starting lineup.
In my opinion Giroud has always been a good player and fits into the Arsenal quite nicely, he may not be as consistent as we all like, but he gets it done. Who can forget the scorpion kick last season?

I like him and glad that these were just rumours. He stays!
