It was the day that all football fans were waiting for, the return of the Champions League. The worlds most prestigious club competition. The last 16 knockout round got underway last night with two fixtures which saw Basle v Manchester City and Juventus v Tottenham.
Basle v Manchester City
Before the game city were clear favourites and they proved why by producing a convincing display to win the game 4-0 with goals coming from Iikay Gundogan (2), Sergio Aguero and Bernado Silva. City were 3 up within the first 24 minuites and just before they took the lead Basle had a strong claim for a penalty which was waved away by the referee. City will now progress into the quarter finals as expected and remain one of the favourites to win the Champions League.

Juventus v Tottenham
This was always going to be a very close game and it proved to be at the final whistle. Early on it seemed that Juventus would be certain the reach the quarter finals after they took a 2-0 lead within the first ten minutes with goal from their Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain and after he missed another great opportunity soon after that would've made it three it seemed that Juve were sure to win the game. Spurs to their credit didn't give up and they soon pulled a goal back through their main man Harry Kane, but Spurs conceded another penalty right on half time which proved to be the vital moment in the game, as Higuain step up to miss and give Spurs a lifeline. In the second half Juventus were dominated by spurs and the team from London got back level with a free kick from Eriksen which Juve goalkeeper Buffon should've done better with. Overall it was a fair result in the end with Tottenham coming away with the advantage going into the second leg.

I can't wait to see the Madrid v PSG game :)
In fact last night game was really interesting especially the match between tot and juv. Tot did really well and deserved the draw
While the mancity match didn't live up to expectation was just a walk in the park for the citizens
You can see my predictions here.
Yesterday, I failed miserably. Let's see if today I'm correct with my predictions.
It's a shame Madrid V PSG is on the same time as Liverpool, I wish I had 2 TV's with BT Sport so I could watch both! I will see the highlights but wish I could see it live.
I am thinking Liverpool will win 1-3 and Madrid and PSG will draw 3-3
