If you look at the worldwide top list for followers of top football clubs in social meda, you would find that the Spanish fierce rivals - Real Madrid and Barcelona are out of competition, they are far ahead of Manchester United, which ranks worldwide 3rd behind them.
Barcelona is now gaining social media followers faster than Real Madrid. Probably, it is Ronaldo's departure helping Messi's Barca to close the gap. There are a lot of “personal” fans of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi and these fans are always trying to say that one player is better than the other and when Ronaldo left Real Madrid for Juventus this season, a million of his followers also stopped following Real Madrid.
