In the match, the players fought each other.

During the World Cup match in Chile, a case of fighting each other's players came out. The matter increased so much that the police had to intervene. During the match between Chile and Italy on June 2, this was a fight. Italy's Giorgio Ferrari was sent out of the ground due to a clash with Chile's Honorino Landa. Landa refused to leave the field. The police took them out. Soon after, Leon Sanchez of Chile struck Mario David, but the referee ignored it. After some time David kicked Sanchez, the referee sent David out. During a while, Umberto's nose was broken by Bar Sanchez. Despite this, Sanchez was not sent out of the ground. After this, there was fought between the two teams and spit on each other. Although the match was won by Chile 2-0. This is also called the Battle of Santiago.

Brazil beat Czechoslovakia 3-1 to win the trophy for the second consecutive time. Italy did this in 1934 and 1938. Chile beat Czechoslovakia by 1-0. for third place. This is the best performance of Chile in world cup so far.

Earthquake outbreak

In 1960 there was a tremendous earthquake, It was a great catastrophe. After this the possibility was that Chile would not be able to organize the World Cup.
