Following on from the analysis yesterday using Minutes in Possession as something to work from (https://steemit.com/football/@statstheway/first-post-minutes-in-possession-and-xpected-shots-per-game-intro)
Here are some more things i found interesting. Sample sizes are very small with only 15 games played so far but i will eventually work back over old stats.
pX goals is expected goals based off performances this year;
Shots taken per goal scored = Shots / Goals
Expected shots per game = Shots per MIP * MIP per game
pX goals = Expected shots per game / shots taken per goal scored
Long Balls
Man City have attempted the fewest long balls in the league but have the highest accuracy of completed long balls. I would like to eventually work out an "efficiency" ranking/scale for many different scenarios. If anyone has any ideas let me know.
