Mesut Ozil may miss 2018 World Cup, according to Bild

Another wave of injuries is on the rampage when the days are numbered before the start of 2018 World Cup. According to German newspaper Bild, Mesut Ozil is the new man in injury list of those who probably won’t play in Russia this summer. Arsenal and Germany playmaker has been spotted at the stands during the last Gunners home game of the season. Bild informs us that Mesut is struggling the chronic back injury which could be real problem for him to join his national team.

Ozil’s problem could add some serious headache for Joachim Low as German side already missing crucial players such as Jerome Boateng and Manuel Neuer.

  • Ozil was participant of two latest World Cups in which he won gold (2014) and bronze (2010)
  • In the season 2017/18 Mesut has missed 17 matches because of injuries

This is a blow. Ozil is a key player in that team. It will be a really tough one for Low considering his key men are injured. For once I though Neuer should have recovered already.

Really unfortunate. I feared the same for Ronaldo when he was taken off at El Classico. I hope he recorvers before the tournament begins
