RE: Acorns from Field to Table, Part 1: FORAGING

So cool! Hoping to get one of those for our pecans next year! It's a lot of fun to come to a property that already has something useful on it. We didn't know when we bought our place but we have 3 pecans trees, an established blueberry bush and wild black berries! The berries aren't very productive (we're working on that) and we only just realized we had pecan trees so that's a bit of a bummer. But kudos to you guys for realizing the usefulness of your established plants from the get go!

We had to wait a year in Ohio before we were finally able to move, so we had some time to think about it, haha! Finding berries is amazing. We found lots of wild blackberry bushes, but only a few of them actually made berries this year, oddly (we had a drought, so maybe that had something to do with it). Even so, we used their leaves medicinally (with surprising sucess!) so it was still a gift!

Can't wait to hear about next year's pecan haul!

That's right, I forgot you had bought it a year previous to moving there! You and me both haha. I'll have to become a pecan lover
