Right now, I am all misty and really happy I stumbled on this quote. The art of forgiveness is one very hard thing that man has not been able to master. Inability to forgive is inbuilt in man and that trend has been alive since the beginning of the world. Cain and Abel, Esau and Jacob etc, no one was born to be forgiving and less than 0.1% of the world population can do that on cue.

I Feel Blessed!

I have been hurt more time than I can remember and every time, I push myself to forgive. It is hard and not easy, but I try the best I can to forgive even if it kills me. Forgiveness may come easy as a word, but, giving it isn't. When we forgive, we eventually end up not forgetting which makes it impossible to forgive. There is a saying that, "do not forgive what you cannot forget, because it is of no use when you forgive while still holding on to the grudge."
As everything in life is a journey, so also forgiveness. I think it is the most difficult journey alive and not everyone can embark on it. It is embedded in our minds and our souls are the landmarks for this journey. When you do eventually decide to make that trip, you will get to that happy place where everything else is just okay.
Holding on to stuffs that upsets, imprisons you in the heart of the abyss and no matter how you try to pretend to be over it, it stares you in the eyes and strips you of what little joy you may have left.
Most of the trouble we see in the world today are a product of unforgiveness in the part of the one who was erred. Remember that, "to err is human and to forgive is divine." Only a truly blessed heart can forgive because, it being able to genuinely forgive is an art of divinity.
Let go of resentment and stop giving your haters free accommodation you in your heart. When you hold on to grudge, you automatically become an apartment on free lease to someone you think you hate.
The greatest forgiveness story every recorded is in Luke 23:34. There is no story of forgiveness that beats that one world over. Right from the creation of the world till date, it is a forgiveness that still speaks. It is an example of what and how we should be living our lives on daily basis.
Make the world a better place for someone today

Thank you so much for this @ejemai.

Forgiveness is a very important thing every human being should learn to show to each for us to move forward and achieve the unachievable. For every christian, without forgiveness he or she can't see God. Happy Sunday to you @ejemai.... Remain blessed

Thank you for your comment. We need to align our hearts to be a forgiving one of we want to see God. God is love and when you love, you will forgive every transgression.
Stay awesome!

Awesome message sir! You meant Luke 23:34 not 23:24 though. Tyler Perry's Acrimony is a classic example of the destructiveness of un-forgiveness. True forgiveness releases and frees you completely and I'm really happy for your mastery of the concept! Cheers sir

Thanks for your comment and correction, edited.
Tyler Perry sure knows what he meant with that quote and also looking at the movie Acrimony, that is a true tale beautifully played out.
Stay awesome!

Thanks Sir! You're amazing

Well, it is true that to forgive is divine. Hmmm, indeed it is truly difficult to forgive and forget. I passed through this 'lane' of unforiveness for many, many years. All those years I was bitter at every little thing. I lost so much. Now I thank God that, the skyscraper of unforgiveness built in me had been demolished. It took the Grace of God to be able to overcome it. I later learnt that as you continue to imprison that person in your heart, you carry a heavy rock on your chest. Advancement in life is slow, blood pressure is high or low. Doors of favour are tightly shut. This process of forgiveness was made possible by the Holy Spirit. The conclusion is since the person that had offended you is not greater than the Almighty God, then no point to harbor 'whatever.' I thank God, I now have my peace. I know longer think of the cucumber, the garlic, the carrots, the cinnamon, silver and gold, the lentils etc., of Egypt. Thank you very much @ejemai for this crucial topic of which many people are still fighting against. May the Holy Spirit of God visit such people today in Jesus' Name.

You must live your life free of the worries of what someone did to you. Forgiveness lightens the burden and as we live a life free from harboring grudges, we become a better version of ourselves and everything good falls into place. Thank you for your comment and stay awesome!

Forgiveness means Forgiving your offenders before they appologies

Thrilled to see this most valuable and timely teaching in a post. Resentment, hate and judgement hold us in a prison that has an open door we choose not to walk through. Much appreciation. Peace and goodwill.

No one should be a prisoner in their own skin and that is what unforgiveness does to the one who got the flag.
Thank you for your comment and stay awesome!

To forgive is divine. Its really not easy to forgive people for the hurt they've caused you, but with the help of God, its possible.
I had people who offended my over the week and it hurt really bad, but thank God for God. Its over now.
Thanks for this boss @ejemai

Thank you for your comment and I am glad you are happy with the decision made to forgive. Living free is one important aspect of being able to fulfill destiny.
Stay awesome!

Agreed. It is difficult when the scar is deep, but when we forgive we also achieve inner healing ourselves

We achieve inner peace when we forgive. Though the scars may remain, they will quickly become stuffs that tells beautiful stories. Stay awesome!
