The Barcelona testing has been completed and we are now less than two weeks away before the start of the Formula 2018 Championship, which kicks off in Melbourne Australia.
So how did Ferrari in the Barcelona testing?
Well in the first test last week, it was a washout, or more of a snowed-out, due to the unexpected wintry scene at the race track!
No teams got any major testing, so all eyes were on the 4 days testing that concluded yesterday.
Overall Ferrari have had a good test, where the car has racked up mileage without any significant reliability issues.
There is a cautious optimism that this could well be the year where Ferrari are a dominant force, take the fight to be Mercedes and take the championship title after a 10 years drought.
The optimism comes from the fact that this fabled italian marque appear to have made a considerable jump from this time last year.
Firstly there have had no issues in clocking up the laps, with Sebastian Vettel completed 187 laps in one day alone - a distance of almost 800km!
Vettel also produced a new unofficial track record to top the leaderboard on Thursday with a blistering lap time of 1:17.182 on the for 2018 hypersoft tyres.
Encouragingly his team mate, Kimi Raikkonen , was second fastest , less than a tent behind Vettel with a lap time of 1:17.221 on the final day.
So for Ferrari fans like me a lot to be optimistic about and see whether the impressive performance in testing is translated in to dominance during this years championship!
