Otodus megalodon teeth collected in the united states

Otodus megalodon was the largest predatory shark to ever exist, it lived during the Miocene through the Pliocene Epoch. Some scientist estimate it could have reached over sixty feet in length. With sharks producing thousands of teeth over their life time, it is no wonder these things are found all over the place. Here are a few that I have found over the years.

This one is from Virginia and should give you an idea of how big these shark teeth can get

This one is from the Lee Creek phosphate mine North Carolina and is just as big as the tooth above

Here is one that is slightly smaller is from the Chesapeake bay in Maryland
