A steemit member got me thinking of the families that lose their children within the system. Foster Care would only be successful for the children if the foster parents coming into the system would really band together and really work with the families that lost their children for reunification. There are scores of resources for families to bring reunification back.
One of the helpful pieces and a way to look at fostercare is this. Obviously, birth families are a bit disoriented and the persuasion of the system forces them to get back. Majority of the reason of losing their children is due to substance abuse. This is a poison in our society. If foster families can work with the birth families to really team up together so that the birth families can really work on what got them where they were in the first place will be more advantageous than the opposite as the foster families wanting to adopt the children and just doing the minimum.
