Se acercaba el inicio del verano.
El verano siempre incluye en su llegada la expectativa de eventos inesperados que nos cambien la vida. Este año no fue así.
Luego de ver partir del país a casi todos mis amigos, daba lo mismo que fuera verano o época de lluvia. La cuenta regresiva para las vacaciones, la emoción, también emigraron. Nadie cuenta los días que faltan para seguir estando solo (o más solo), nadie cuenta los días para que la vida no les cambie, para que todo siga igual (o peor). El verano llega, y continúa helando dentro.
Pero aquí, por mucho que parezca que Dios se ha olvidado de nosotros, todavía podemos ir a la playa al menos una vez. Al menos una vez, como diciendo “al menos una oportunidad más para la vida”. Que el mar cura, y si no cura, al menos te revuelve hasta que te creas curado.
Así que fui. Fuimos.
La arena: suave. El mar: violento. Todos desconocidos, pero unidos por la misma nostalgia y por las mismas ganas de enfrentar esas fuertes olas en algún momento. Éramos damas y caballeros de hojalata, pero con traje de baño. Un naufragio en plena orilla.
Entonces lo ví. Como si el pasado me golpeara en el mismo instante en el que la última ola rompió en la arena. Y él se acercó al extrañarse de ver caras conocidas: ¿y ustedes siguen aquí? Pensé que se habían ido.
No, seguimos.
Había cambiado, se le notaba. Pero, ¿a quién no se le nota? Ese respirar cansado como si se acabara de escapar de unos perros rabiosos. Ese sonreír con los ojos buscando un horizonte que está perdido. Esas ganas de evadir cualquier tema sobre el caos. Ese suspiro al encontrar un apoyo conocido, presente. Y ese abrazo de reconciliación. Nos convertimos en refugios de quienes nos encontramos aún aquí para evitar que el frío avance.
Y así entramos al mar, como haciendo un reclamo con nuestros cuerpos desnudos frente a la inmensidad del océano. Débiles, pero juntos. Hasta que un día, nos toque irnos también, uno a uno.

La nostalgia me invadió al leer tu historia. Un verano maravillosa que calienta por fuera, pero el alma sigue fría como invierno nórdico. También me ha pasado. Un abrazo y gracias por compartirnos esta linda narración.
