The Mission and Purpose of the non profit, GROW-THE-CHAIN, will be to raise capital, call for proposals, and provide Funding for Projects to make the general public, governments, and corporations, more aware of Steem Blockchain, enhance Steem value, and showcase Steem’s overwhelming advantages among cryptocurrency. The Non Profit will advocate for Steemians, and educate regulatory agencies and Governments worldwide.

The Non profit will work alongside hand-in-hand with other blockchain initiatives, such as the Worker Proposal System (DAO's), with the Non Profit focusing on the marketing, business, and regulatory sectors of the Steem Blockchain, and not focus on software and code initiatives.

Board Of Directors Update

Board of Directors

The Board will consist of a total of 2 Members voted by Top 20 Witnesses Members

• 1 member elected for one year, by the top 20 Witnesses
• 1 member elected for two years by the top 20 Witnesses
  

The Board will consist of a total of 2 Members voted by Steemit Inc

• 1 member elected for one year, by Steemit Inc
• 1 member elected for two years by Steemit Inc
  

The Board will consist of a total of 2 Members voted by the Steem Community At Large, one vote per account

• 1 member elected for one year, by Steemit Inc
• 1 member elected for two years by Steemit Inc
  

In addition, at the Second Annual Meeting of the Non Profit, an additional 2 seats to the board will be added, to be elected by corporate funding members with definition of corporate funding member to be defined at the time of Non Profit Incorporation.

After initial Board Member terms are completed, all future board members will serve for 2 years.

• The association may set guidelines for board member participation and removal in case of non participation, or malfeasance.
• No Board member may serve more than 2 terms consecutively
• No limit on total terms served lifetime is defined so long as no more than two in a row are served.

One of the primary roles of the Board Of Directors will be to provide guidance and vote on FUNDING of PROJECTS by GROW-THE-CHAIN with membership feedback, communication and advice through communication and periodic voting.

No.
Ultimately, the goal of the foundation is to help GROW Steem the blockchain.

Steemit is but one part of the Blockchain
Right now, Steemit does NOT control the Steem blockchain.
Technically, the top 20 witnesses vote control of the code that controls the blockchain. Are you voting for witnesses?

I like this idea of staggered 'seats' and representatives being elected by different sections of the entire eco-system.

It makes sense to me. Nice work. You've obviously been putting a fair bit of thought and effort into your proposals.
