Yeah, nuclear energy isn't great, as it produces wacky waste which is quite toxic, there is not that much of it but it does pollute the area where it's dumped. There is also the small chance of something going really horribly wrong. This compared to fracking's constant guaranteed pollution to groundwater and the causing of errosion leads me to the conclusion of them being quite as bad as one another.
My point was that if we had've been fully commited to the advancement of nuclear technologies in the past century, then we would probably be at a level where nuclear power would be safe and sustainable with minimal waste. Heck, we could have clean fusion power by now.
But that does not really matter because solar is quite there already, now just fossil fuel monopolies hinder it's spread.
