Flowers Terangangi in Aceh
For you flower lovers of course you must know many types of flowers with a variety of flowers and colors that can captivate the heart. Everyone loves flowers, both men and women. It is not surprising that many people spend a lot of money to earn the coveted interest.
Flowers used by many people not only limited to ornamental plants, but as a medicinal plant, not even wonder that flowers have a distinctive scent will be used as perfume. No wonder for the perfume entrepreneurs interested in fragrant flowers to be used as the basic ingredients of making perfume.
Did you know that the tip of the island of Sumatra, Aceh is a very popular flower of fragrance.
I will share information to you there are three types of flowers that must be recognized by all people in Aceh, namely Bungong Meulu (Bunga Melati), Bungong Seulanga (Bunga Kenanga), and Bungong Jeumpa (Cempaka). Usually people use the flowers as ornamental plants and medicines.
1. Bungong Meulu (Jasmine Flower)
Bungong meulu or jasmine flowers are ornamental flower plants in the form of shoots erect that live chronically. Jasmine is a genus of shrubs and vines in the olive family (Oleaceae). It consists of about 200 species of native tropical and warm tropical plants from Eurasia, Australasia and Oceania. Jasmine is widely cultivated for their distinctive floral scent. In Indonesia, one kind of jasmine is made as "puspa bangsa" or national symbol of jasmine white (Jasminum sambac), because this flower symbolizes purity and purity, and is associated with various traditions from many tribes in this country. Jasmine flowers are useful for sowing flowers, perfumes, cosmetics, perfumes, pharmaceuticals, flower arrangements and mix or tea fragrances, such as popular jasmine tea in Indonesia.
2. Bungong Seulanga (Flower Kenanga)
Bungong seulanga or kenanga flowers are plants belonging to the family Annonaceae has two types, namely Cananga odorata forma macrophylla, known as the original Kenanga of Indonesia and Cananga odorata forma genuina or Kenanga native to the Philippines. Kenanga (Latin: Cananga odorata) is the name for the kind of flowers and trees that produce them. There are two forma kenanga, namely macrophylla, known as ordinary ylang, and genuina, known as the ylang ylang filipines. In addition, there are also known shrubs (Cananga odorata fruticosa), which are widely grown as ornaments on the home page. The ylang flower grows rapidly up to more than 5 meters per year and is able to reach an average height of 12 meters. The trunk of a straight ylang tree, with hardwood and suitable for soundproofing (acoustic). The leaves are long, smooth and shiny. The flowers are yellowish green, and they contain oily oil, fragrant cananga oil. In Aceh, many ylang flowers occupy roles in special ceremonies such as in a marriage ceremony.
3. Bungong Jeumpa (Cempaka)
There are so many myths that circulate about cempaka flower, especially white cempaka flower or more popularly known as flower or flower of kantil. Some people believe that the kantil flower has a fragrant aroma and a clean white flower color that makes people fascinated. Cempaka flower is a flower plant whose habitat is found in tropical and sub tropical areas. These spreading areas include the countries of Southeast Asia, South Asia, Southern China. While in Indonesia this plant is commonly found in Java, Aceh, Maluku, and Sulawesi. Flower chrysolite in Indonesia has various types such as red cempaka flowers, white cempaka (kantil), cempaka purple flowers, yellow cempaka flowers, and cempaka hyacinth flowers. Of all these the most popular types are the white or white cauliflower. White cempaka flower is known for the myths attached to this flower. Some people believe that the flower of the kantil has the preferred scent of the spirits. Some even believe that this flower tree is used as a house of subtle creatures like jinn and others. Kantil flower is also often used as a ritual for summoning spirits.
