I have to admit @charles1 that I agree with you a lot in this article. i have been part of steemit now since New years Eve and I have been big Facebook user for a while now and over the last year I have found it more like sleep book. Every single day FB have give me nothing but grief posting anything related to steemit. It breaches their community standards and then I challenge it they then repost my post and after several 2 or three posts i just get blocked whilst getting emails from FB asking if I want to pay for their advertising for the same freakin advert they warned went against their community standards a joke bt to be fair I can get so much more reach of one post in instagram and twitter. If you want to hear who has had an affair with who and catch up on the latest soap opera gossip and lose meaning less hours of time then sleep book is great but yes what I like here is a nice balance of communication skills. Its kinda weird that alot of people just don't get that the word social has to involve the engagement of two people at least so that is one of the things that I love about steemit is that what ever niche you are in this platform does encourage some good old fashion communication skills. One thing that do need to work on here is how we educate new people that come to this platform. For me im one of those I will just network until i find the right people but have to admit for newbies my first 21 days was full of sleepless nights because I loved the platform that much I wanted to make it easier for a lot more people I introduce and it is sad that I see and hear stories here of some of the bigger whales some of them spoiling it I could say abusing it and although I don't want to rant to much but us newbies us new tadpoles little fish are needed if we are going to hang on to what we have here we need welcoming better and educating and we need protecting from the big whales that have forgotten that we all climb when we reach out to pick others up so I hope we can hang on to the general nice genuine community we have overall :)
