I think if it catches on, we might just encourage a few people to examine their process of engagement. The interesting time will be when the floodgates open and a million new people arrive.
I hope more people will start flagging spammers who goes to all new posts and paste Ctrl+V in the comment section. So far this has gone pretty unpunished, but I hope we are able to get rid of most of these in the future. If they get flagged on all their posts, or at least those who earn them some money pre-flagging, they probably won't bother to keep this up.
Yes, I think it's imperative that we get things on track before the mass influx happens, because they will take their lead on how to act from the community, and if there is still a ton of spamming being accepted, the newcomers will follow suit.
