I wrote a thought on Ecency yesterday
I keep buying $HIVE at sale prices because I believe it's EXTREMELY undervalued and the price has a huge upside potential.
I might be mistaken, but I'm willing to take my chances.
With all the amazing I win even if price stays like this forever.
And someone answered with this
While you are buying dont allow hive watch to flag you else you would be force too powerdown your account or lick ass for 1- 3 months
Hmmm What a peculiar thought. Imagine that; some one with the power to force me to do something on a blockchain ecosystem. It's certainly hard for me to picture. You see, with blockchain tech, everything is distributed. The data on the HIVE blockchain exists on hundreds of different computers, all online at the same time and validated by independent peers. The data on HIVE is not held by a custodian; it is protected by many, independent, autonomous, distributed entities that don't even have to know each other, let a lone agree with each other. Everybody can participate with or without investing a cent and nobody can stop anybody else. If I want to vote, I can do so, and if I want to vote with more power I can do so too. All I have to do is head to an exchange and trade something for HIVE and power those HIVE up. I can also create value for others and they can pay me in HIVE. I can power up all day, every day of the year and NOBODY can force me to power down.
What an incredible feeling.
The stake I hold can also be used to vote on content created by others that I find valuable on the blockchain. I can vote on content and help them grow and by doing so I help my own account grow at a rate of about 10% per year (~ 7% from curation and about 3% from the blockchain by simply keeping my HIVE tokens staked). Another portion of my stake is held in $HBD stable coin. I use this to hedge my investment a bit. The price of $HBD hovers very close to $1 as it has mechanisms like the HBD Stabilizer to achieve that. HBD also returns 15% when held in your savings account and nobody can force me to do anything with either coins held.
This is freedom tech y'all.
Technology available to all and seizable by no one.
Use it, believe in it and help if grow by showing it to others. Some will brush you off, that's normal, but a few will understand and dip their toes into the freedomverse just like you and I have. If one day they have something you want and are willing to accept HIVE or HBD for it, you can trade.
This is how parallel economies are created.
Free technology also means anybody can use it. Goodies, baddies and people you won't always agree with. It comes with the territory. You can choose to be offended by someone you don't see eye to eye with, but that's entirely up to you. You can rage post, make a video about it, kick, scream and throw a temper tantrum. You can even power down and kick rocks down the street, but again, it's entirely up to you.
Nobody can force you.
This is freedom-land.

There's a lot of crap talked about HW. I've seen them be quite reasonable when people cooperate, but they have scared off a few. As you say, we can do what we want here and that includes people who spam crap forever. That can just affect what you earn.
I'd like to highlight this more. Freedom is often overlooked, but it's an incredibly powerful feature.
I've only really seen HW crack down on accounts that have abused the rewards pool by plagiarizing content.
Well.. that's a new one. Keep on the straight and narrow and hivewatchers wont be seeing you... ever.
Yeah, not worried about the owl. I do wonder about people not completely seeing what is happening right before our eyes. We ALL have the opportunity to opt out of systems controlled by companies and governments. We have tools at our disposal to communicate and transact on alternative networks, yet people focus on the $3 they lost on a plagiarized post they lost because a larger account downvoted them.
I'm still amazed by what's being built.
The Turkish translation seems to have worked correctly!
Hive really is freedom. The only place where everyone can share their thoughts without harm. Of course we should respect the sensitivities of others.
It's incredible, and amazing things are being built without most of us realizing.
Hive can let you control your blog by yourself
On Hive, you’re your own boss and nothing is better than that
A level of freedom that few people understand, but everybody has access to.
Hive is a great tech place where no censorship exists. I am trying to learn many things here and how it works but I know very well that no one can do anything with your hive stake. One can choose to do whatever the person wants with his or her stake. This is part of decentralisation right?
I'm so happy to be on Hive. Hive really lets people control their own money and speech. No bosses, no limits. That’s how tech should work and this is a future that is better
Did you know you can send encrypted messages to other Hive accounts?
I have learned a lot in my 1 to two months here but not encrypted.
A friend said there's messaging here I haven't tried it yet. Perhaps I could use that and get my family on board and that could be a way to chat
What a shout out, Alex! 👍🏻
Good post. The Hive Watchers thing (or just the potential for whales to mess things up) does rightly scare off a lot of people.
But, if you view Hive as an immutable blockchain that you can use without caring about creator rewards or winning DAO proposals, it gets easier.
I think of the DAO and voting as an app built on top of Hive, not as Hive itself (even though it is).
