So last night I ran across a video of a bunch of vegan animal rights activist acting like thugs when they stole rancher's property, and then tried to act like the victims when the cops caught them.
I really don't care about your moral equivalency shit. It doesn't phase me any more. It is you, own it.
However, when I took the time and pointed out that this was a PR disaster for the group, and it makes them look like thugs and insane criminals, I was immediately equated to the problem of being a carnivore. Meaning that they disregarded what I tried to say and decided that I must be the enemy.
I didn't bother getting into the debate.
When did winning an argument change someone's mind? It is rare.
When did being rude and do and assumption dump onto a dissenting voice win an a person over? Nearly never.
In my reply to them, I posted coaching tips on how to use public opinion to win people over. How to beet the government, and their cronies, by using the market. How to promote their ideas over by promoting their positive message of "Why us."
It took me years to accept that emotions are tangible, not objective, but subjective style of tangible. Meaning that people will work with emotion long before they work with logic, or clay. Even being emotionless is an emotion.
Once you realize this, then you see that you have to find what sells the idea. How does your idea win over your opposition. How can you promote "Why me".
Personally, beyond the fact that my dietary constraints are similar to that of a diabetic Jew or Muslim, my actual diet is shouldn't be a factor in helping people learn to communicate their message better.
I am lucky that I was a but extra lucid on this when these people blast posted against me. Normally when people try to act like authoritarians with me, I delete my post, and repost it, just so their comments are lost. I decided to be nice this time.
For the record, I am still learning this lesson too.
