India seems to be making the news quite a bit lately, and not for good reason. Earlier this month, Prime Minister Modi announced a ban on banknotes that make up about 90% of their circulating currency, which made for some nice blogging with "Cash Drama Continues in India as Even Pigs Need to Deal with Government Stupidity" and "Banknote Ban Wreak's Havoc in Rural India, Informal Lending Breaks Down."
Now in The Land of Infinite Regulation, India's supreme court has ruled that the national anthem must be played in every cinema before a film is screened.
"The people should stop following individual notions of freedom and have a sense of committed patriotism," Indian media reports quoted judges as saying.
A further kick in the balls is that Indians are already forced by law to stand for the national anthem.
It seems like nationalism is cool again!

Nationalism that is forced is not nationalism.
