Yes, that actually makes a lot of sense because when you're cold, your pituitary gland sends a signal to your thyroid, which controls your metabolism, to release thyrotropin to raise your body's temperature but, it also burns fats. Something along those lines.
Ice baths seem a bit extreme but, I might take one in the future.
In Kundalini yoga we have a very elaborate cold shower routine. I've been too much of a pussy to try cold showers. I'll have to get into it. Hubby says you get a nice dopamine release, too. He's all about finding those non-substance non-consuming ways of getting good brain chemicals.

I just got out of a cold shower about an hour ago; you have to try it as soon as possible. It's just amazing, it's tough but, the reward it's damn worth it. Also, look into Wim Hof, and his breathing method, you'll surely love it.
