Some things I do not care about:
- Whether Elon Musk buys Twitter or not.
- Whether Jordan Peterson is on Twitter or not, what he has to say about Elliot Page, or indeed any other topic. Also, I don't care about what the people who hate Peterson have to say about him.
- Whether people are being "androgynous" or not.
- How many drag queen story hours there are, or how many kids attend them.
- Whether swimsuit models are fat or thin, and what Twitterati think about the amount of fat they have.
Here's a very partial list of topics that get much less attention than the above, but deserve vastly more:
- Legalizing organ markets (more bodily autonomy, and many thousands of lives saved every year).
- Challenge trials for new vaccines (same as 1, but perhaps even more lives to be saved).
- Why the US is going to fall way short of Biden's refugee admissions quota for the second year in a row. Some 100,000 people stuck in poverty and oppression as a result.
- Slashing immigration and work visa red tape (would save even more people than 3, and boost the US economy to boot).
- Licensing reform. More freedom, greater opportunity for poor people, and huge savings for consumers.
The issues on List 1 have little or no impact on human freedom and well-being. The issues on List 2 have HUGE effects on both, and they all have pretty easy policy fixes, on which there is a lot of cross-ideological agreement by experts.
