Freedom is an antithesis. It is a state of being in relation to something else and does not exist on its own. One is free from something. Freedom from bondage, freedom from thinking, freedom from choice, freedom from life are all "freedoms" but denote quite different circumstances. Valuing "freedom" for its own sake is same as valuing "more" as being a preferable condition. "More what?" ought to be the relevant query, much like "freedom from what?" ought to be the question humanity needs to consider.

Maybe, but you can value freedom as a general idea about being free about all things.
