I have really enjoyed reading some of the posts that others have put forward for this challenge, I was able to identify with alot of them and found myself nodding my head in agreement. It really shows the diversity here on steemit. Which really brings me onto what Freedom means for me.
Freedom for me means many things, one if them is being able to celebrate all the diversity in our lives, from the people to the places. Too often our differences are highlighted in a negative manner, but we all carry so much wisdom and skills that when celebrated can create something wonderful. Having the freedom to come together and share that wisdom, to learn from one another and to grow is something that is important to me.
As a mother, having the freedom to birth my children how and where I want to is hugely important and something that is getting harder and harder to do in society. It is a woman's choice and should only be a woman's choice when it comes to birth.
As a parent, having the freedom to raise my children without interference, including having the freedom to breastfeed wherever I want without being frown at. And also giving my children the freedom to choose how they wish to learn.
As a adult being able to be free of this mentality of always wanting to improve myself, to be better to do better, thinking I am not good enough. Unschooling myself and freeing my mind, and remembering that I am enough.
Freedom is living where the air is clean and not polluted. Living amongst nature, connecting with the earth . Being aware and part of her cycles.
Freedom is being in touch with my intuitive self and being given the space and encouragement to do so. Listening to my body and recognising signs that it sends me, not having to rely on others to treat or heal me but trusting that my body and my environment can do that.
Freedom to me is traveling, moving forwards in the physical sense but also in my way of thinking.
Freedom to me is being able to be at home with my children, watching them learn and grow. Being the person they turn to when they need someone.
Freedom is being introduced to Steemit and the ability to make money, allowing me to continue to be with my kids, open the door to travelling again and interacting with all you lovely folk.
Freedom is really living the life you want and not just existing.

Thank you @sagescrub for putting together this challenge.
Freedom is different for different people and all of what you said is definitely freedom for me. Also, I'd like to add that we should just start letting ourselves decide what's good or bad for us instead of declaring certain things as right and wrong. In my society, people have already decided what needs to be done to be happy and what shouldn't be engaged in and this makes it very difficult for any of us to be completely free. Luckily for me, I am married to a guy who is helping me and himself becoming more emotionally free and breaking the shackles of the stereotypes in the society.
thank you @sharoonyasir I always appreciate your input. It's true what you say and it's also something that would be very empowering.
Aishlin, I love your views and ideologies a lot and I loved your post a few days back wherein you mentioned people calling you strict when they find out you don't let sugar come near your children. Unfortunately, I couldn't comment on it then and then got so occupied with stuff that I forgot all about it until now. However, that post had me thinking for a long time and encouraged me more on limiting my son's intake of processed sugar and slowly cutting it out completely. Would love to have a detailed chat with you on this one. When are you free?
True all this. The hippies had it right. Drop out and tune in. Also, cultivate mindfulness. So you can access that sense of freedom at any place and at any time.
thanks @stmoloud, mindfulness so true. yeah to tuning in and dropping out.
Lovely Post Brother ! I personally think Freedom is something you need to feel from within, then express and embody within your actions <3
Much love.
Lol what @likedeeler said, I was going to say that but with exception that not a brother, but a sister haha :)
Your brother is a mother! 😋
I sure am, thanks @likedeeler
What does freedom mean to me?

thank you @growlittleseeds x
Hi @trucklife-family! Thank you for participating in the #freedomchallenge :)
I enjoyed hearing your thoughts on freedom. You paint a picture that feels very natural to me - Freedom is being in harmony with nature, trust, family, intuition, love and learning :) Your children must be very proud of their mother!
Thanks so much @sagescrub, it was such a great subject to write about, thanks for getting us all thinking x
I missed your competition,
But what I read above for freedom, I think is very short lived freedom.
The above to me reads purely of financial freedom. While this does give a certain amount of freedom, It is personal freedom and not living as a free person, I think there is a very distinctive difference in both toward each other. Freedom should not be wealth dependant or it is not freedom?
Thank you @brayias for dropping by and thanks for commenting would like to know more about why you think my answer is purely about financial freedom? cheers
Maybe my reply was vague, (not intentionally, I know the point of view I was writing from unlike the reader).
"The above to me reads like financial freedom." is more the above is more often only achievable with having financial freedom might be a better line.
I think it would be short lived, as it would be still be finances within the current system of social economics. At some point, you will need more for some reason. Wind damage water damage to a property? The reasons can be numerous and wide ranged for the needs any person may come across, Many unforeseen. At that point you are plunged back into a need to gain more and your freedom is gone.
I did not mean it to read against you, or anything you wrote if you read it as so.
Life situation as we live with the need for high finance for a standard of living offers no freedom of choice, as at first you need to reach that golden hill. Once there, You need to keep adding to the hill or the hill will erode daily with the needs of life.
Hope this example I give is not too cryptic.
A higher standard to poverty is needed? where you have the freedom of choice from the start. To pursue your artistic endeavours, quests of nature, parental dedication, musical or financial.
thank you for coming back and responding, I hear what you are saying but I personally live very simply and have very little money, i do not own a house, we live in a truck and I have never wanted to reach any golden hill. I am happy to be living a life that has a low impact on the environment. My needs are not much, we have shelter and can feed ourselves, my kids are happy and have alot of freedom. I am a big fan of up cycling and recycling.
In my mind then, you have the riches of contentment. Very rare thing.
Myself I am trapped in the societies web. As yet, I am avoiding the spiders.
