Since we launched the FIAT gateway through our Partnership with Netcoins, we have been very excited by the prospects of STEEM users getting unimpeded access to STEEM purchases, instead of having to go through multiple assets or exchanges.
For that reason we were quite surprised when we saw a post from @yogajill about how she was unable to purchase STEEM! We have looked into the issue and wanted to give you, our users, a full report.
Recently you may have heard about a high-profile hack on the Binance exchange. Our partner Netcoins uses Binance, and in response to this hack disabled all trading, not just for STEEM, but for all coins.
They have since switched their operations over to Bittrex, and trading can resume as normal.
This incident did highlight an important flaw in our communications between our partner Netcoins, which since has been remedied as well. We now have controls in place to become aware of such downtime before our own users; as we all know, in the cryptoecosystem the only sure thing is volatility. We want to thank @exyle for bringing this to our attention on Discord, and would like to encourage all of our users to reach out on Discord anytime they have a question, concern or problem.
We remain committed to providing the highest levels of customer service in our ecosystem, and we will continue to work to achieve that level.
FreeX Token 101
The core of our business is the FreeX token through which we will share the value we capture back to the community. FreeX has three important features:
