ANDY GREEN first pitched the idea for the game to a prolific creator of ZX Spectrum games as a suggestion for his next project. His idea consisted of a ladders-and-levels screen with the focal point being a large, hungry plant: The Trapper. Various enemies would mill around the area collecting various items of food to feed the voracious trapper, building it’s strength up until it exploded, taking everything out in it’s immediate vicinity - including the player. Your job was to stop the enemy in their tracks, leaving the plant to starve and eventually perish, leaving the world a much safer place.
